Marcel Favreau was born in Montréal in 1921. He showed at an early age strong interest in drawing. At sixteen years old, he begins his art education at Monument National to be pursued the following year at École des Beaux-arts de Montréal.

Marcel Favreau has dedicated his life to painting, perfecting his art while teaching painting to hundred of students. Whether in figurative or abstract mode, Marcel Favreau is a painter of light, a relentless perfectionist who never hesitates to dedicate the time required to bring his work to the desired degree of realization. Above all, his paintings are marvellously composed and his colours both rich and nuanced. Not matter what the subject is: a landscape, a still life or an abstract study, Marcel Favreau knows how to transport the viewer at the hearth of his passion. His work has been shown since the sixties in Montréal, New York and Los Angeles.
